Why use a UDR to match on ESSID to place a VoIP phone in a Voice Role? Why not just make the Default role assigned in the AAA profile the Voice Role?

Also, if using UDR on a 802.1x network, the Default role for 802.1x trumps the UDR? 

And lastly, a Server Defined Role will trump an 802.1x Default role correct?

If you have devices that are NOT a voice phone and you want their traffic to have normal priority, you would assign them the default role and the phone the UDR role.....

Ah, yes.. I am being narrow minded! That makes sense for matching on something other than ESSID (like OUI). For ESSID, it makes no differense as all clients will then get the UDR. 

Can you confirm...

802.1x default role trumps UDR... and SDR trumps 802.1x Default role correct?
