Voice issues between old and new controllers

I have a problem with roaming wireless phones, which happens when the client moves from an AP terminated on a new controller to another AP terminated on the old ones.

Below are some of the setup details:

- Old Setup: 2 Controllers on redundancy model 3200 serving old APs such as AP65 and AP93

- New Setup: 1 Controller Model 7210 Serving  AP205 and AP103H

- Both old and new setups having the same SSIDs and VLANs for each SSID

Tried having a Master and local topology but it didn't work due to the difference in Aruba OS which is not possible to be upgraded on the old controllers in order to support the old APs "AP65"

Also enables IP Mobility on both setups but still the voice calls gets disconnected while roaming between old and new APs.

Any ideas ?

What voice handset?
What power are your access points set to?

Avaya wireless IP phones.

As for the APs power I am not sure. I think it is automatically adjusted by ARM.

Re: Voice issues between old and new controllers

Phones that roam between controllers are not guaranteed to maintain connections because their firewall state is not synchronized and the phy type is different. Do the phones work after the roam?

yes the phones works fine after reconnecting.

The only problem is that ongoing calls gets disconnected.

Re: Voice issues between old and new controllers

Is the default gateway of the VoIP clients the same device on both controllers?

Re: Voice issues between old and new controllers

Since firewall state is not synchronized between controllers, it is probably not possible to maintain a call between two infrastructures.

Re: Voice issues between old and new controllers

And the only way to sync the firewall state is having the master local topology ?

Re: Voice issues between old and new controllers

Firewall state is not synchronized between controllers even between a master and locals.  You cannot expect to have a voice call work reliably when roaming between controllers.
