Hi All Yesterday I ran through the config wizard on my controller to add another WLAN! However when it came to the end, it showed a preview of the config I wanted to apply! This showed all the current wlans we have on there, I was worried it might overwrite something and mess up my current configuration. Is this the case? will it only add the one I have added ? cheers Carl

It depends whether you have edited an existing AP-group or created a new AP-group.

 

If you select "New" option as shown bellow, you will not loose your existing config.

you mean you tried to create a new SSID and you want to broadcast the new SSID without reprovosioning APs . right ? if so it will never overwrite your existing WLANs(SSIDs). it will create and map a new VAP profile(with new SSID and AAA profiles) to the existing AP-Group

Yes thats correct, we tried to create new SSID using wizard, and wanted to add to existing AP group! However before you apply at the end it gives you a preview of the configuration it is going to apply, however when we look at the preview, we can see all the existing ssid's that we have already setup! Is this normal ?

Yes ! it is correct. here is how Aruba works,

 

1. Under one AP-Group we can map multiple VAPs ( One VAP per SSID )

 

2. Under one VAP we have map one SSID profile and one AAA profile.

 

here, you are creating a new VAP profile under the existing AP-Group that it !
