    Hi All

What is the difference between AP215 and AP225?

I see there is only one 1GB interface for AP215, so how can it achieve 1.3g as stated in datasheet.

    Thanks

    Mahathma

225 is for high density  and it has 2 ports  this one might have  better CPU

215 is for moderate density but has 1 port,

There  is no way you will achive 1.3gbs, you will just achive 1gbs cause of the port that is missing.

Other vendors are doing that, if you check Cisco 3700 series is the same.   It just has one 10/100/1000 port. http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/3700-series-access-point/data_sheet_c78-729421.html

    Cheers

Remember that wireless is half-duplex and link speed is different from actual throughput.

Think of a 48 port gigabit switch with 2 1G uplinks. Way oversubscribed but you rarely see any issues. Just because the ports are gigabit, doesn't mean the client will get that kind of throughput.

AP225 is supported from the 6.3.x code, whereas why  AP215 is supported from the 6.4.2.x code?.

We understand the AP215 is lesser capable than the AP225.

Can support for AP215 provided in 6.3.x code?

AP-21x is a newer AP which is why it needs the newer 6.4 code.

    Thanks,

As far as specs, the 215 has a slightly less memory than the 225, so in theory it can handle less users when stretched to capacity (say into 75+ users per AP). But otherwise performance is fairly similar with normal user loads.
