I have an IAP wireless network broadcasting a 802.1x SSID.

Windows 7 pc's join right up.

    IOS devices join right up.

    XP machines will NOT connect.

On the pc itself it just sits and spins on Validating network

On the IAP web-gui I see Radius fail message

When I look at the Radius server I do NOT see any request to join.

    Ideas?

Many times with windows XP, you have to manually configure the connection
profile and specify the server certificates CA as trusted for the
    connection.

Very true.  Windows XP is poor at quessing the settings.  We use group policy to push the settings to XP devices so the settings are configured by us centrally.  You can try manually setting up the SSID profile on a windows XP box to validate if that is the issue.  Check settings such as wpa2, aes, peap, mschap-v2, validate server cert if using certs, etc.

XP often selects smart card/cert as the default though many people don't use that.

    Hope that helps,

Aruba also offers the QuickConnect tool which will automatically configure
client devices with the appropriate certificate and authentication methods.
This is helpful for non-AD joined devices.

LOL - also make sure you have SP3 as XP doesn't support WPA2 without it :)
