we've been settin up our 225 aps with both eth0 and eth1 connected to switch ports that are linked as a lag pair. We verify this by running the "show ap debug lacp..." command. Both switch ports provide full poe to the AP.

    Here's the questions...

1 - what is the recommended best practices method of deploying these 225 Aps (1 link, 2 links, 2 links lag, poe to both, poe to one only)?
2 - what is the default behavior of these APs when connected with both links (0 is data while 1 is poe, whoever grabs what first, 2.4 data on 0 5 data on 1) in lag mode or when not in lag mode?

    Thanks!!

There is no best practice at this point. Only one port can pull power at a time.

The only current benefit is to do a cross stack port channel so that if one switch dies, the AP will reboot and come back on the second one.

In order to do radio load balancing, you need to configure the GRE striping IP in the ap system profile. There are steps on how to configure it in the AOS user guide.

We do have GRE striping enabled and configured, sorry, didn't mention that.

How does that effect the lag setup?

It should be used in combination with LAG IP load balancing to split the traffic across the two links.

Ok, but does the AP behave differently when the switch ports are (or are not) in a lag config?

It depends on the configuration. You can also configure e1 as a switchport.

is there any special configuration for enabling the switchport or is it plug and play?

It depends on how you want it configured. Bridged VLAN, tunnel, split-tunnel, authentication, open.
