Anyone seen a problem where the br0 port is showing almost all packets dropped?

    br0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 94:B4:0F:C2:B3:AC
              inet addr:10.20.31.98 Bcast:10.20.31.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
              inet6 addr: fe80::96b4:fff:fec2:b3ac/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING ALLMULTI MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
              RX packets:357 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
              TX packets:345 errors:0 dropped:340 overruns:0 carrier:0
              collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
              RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)

The AP is in the controller and shows as up. I can ping it with no problems. The firewalls have an allow all policy from the conrtoller to this AP. We do not see any GRE traffic coming from the conroller back to the AP.

How many and what firewalls are between your controller and AP?  Is any NAT involved?

Dropped traffic is only a symptom, it does not say everything.

A PA5050 at the main campus and a PA200 at the remote. It is a VPN IPsec tunnel with no NAT.

In the AP group, in the AP system profile, I would lower the MTU to 1100

    No luck.

We have some packet captures and the GRE ID appears to only be 9000. Its listed under the "Protocol Type". Is that correct?

    hi playinpearls

gre 9000 is the heartbeat. Drop on br0 may not in itself be an issue, can you share the output of the "show ap debug system-status" for all the interfaces ? is it incrementing in real time ?

    regards

"Is that the correct place to view the port number in wireshark? (the picture)"

not sure I quite understand your question - can you clarify ?

As for the drop stats, looking around some lab APs I see that it's not uncommon to have drops on br0 device, same for my lab AP - the tx drop is almost the same as the tx packets on br0. Let me try and find out more from R&D, but I think it's not related to whatever problem your AP has.

can you share the bootup console output and the dmesg output (go to AP shell and run dmesg, or use 'show ap debug log ap-name <>'). suspecting maybe a h/w issue and/or maybe regulatory issue or something like this. Check the error log on the controller for any messages from this AP too.
