during conversion i am getting below eerror from logs, full log file is attached. due to this i am not able to view this AP in controller\

To convert your IAP-205 to a campusAP, your controller needs atleast to be on version 6.4.1.

Seems like you have a 3200, this will be problematic, as this controller does not have a large enough flash to support the newest code base.

You will either have to switch to å newer controller or buy a upgrade kit for this 3200, making it a 3200XM

thanks for that information, but we recently purchased this Controller and upgrade or replacing controller would not be an option for us. is there a way i can convert this IAP 205 this time atleast for next time i can purchase only normal AP's instead.

if you just purchased it, you are entitled to software upgrades for 90 days per the standard s/w warranty. At any rate, for any AP2xx, you really want to be on 6.4.2.3 software.

As Tim notes, there is no way to make this 205 talk to anything other than 6.4.x, this is detailed in the AP product matrix available at http://www.arubanetworks.com/pdf/products/MAT_AP.pdf

The available AP's supported by your Aruba 3200 is as follows

As i wrote earlier, you could upgrade your Aruba 3200 controller to the latest 6.4.2.3, but as this device don't have enough flash memory, you will have to buy a upgrade kit.

Your device as for now is unable to be upgraded to 6.4.

Since you´re Already on 6.3 with your controller I asume it´s and 3200XM or a 3200 with extra memory kit installed. Hence this should be fine to upgrade to 6.4.2.3 and that would be able to terminate your IAP-205 after conversion to a campus AP.

i was able to upgrade the OS to 6.4 and successfully converted the AP. thanks all for help.

Before buying APs you can check which minimum software version the AP need to run in Campus mode. By going to this page: http://www.arubanetworks.com/products/access-points/ and clicking on the AP family that you ar interested in, you will be presented with info on the access points. You want to look for the "Minimum Software Version"-section. The 220 series' section looks like this:
