I have a station which is fixed , my spectrum analyzer shows  that the station's rssi values always varying ? .

if a station is not moving , how does the rssi value changing

Thank you

Re: rssi value and the fixed sta

- Packets from wifi device to another do not always take the same path.  Even devices that have the same line of sight, can see packets that bounce off of or are absorbed by other objects.  They report on those packets and that is why the signal strength can vary.

- Devices also vary in the way they measure signals, so your spectrum analyzer could report different signal strength based on how quickly it is scanning channels.

- It is quite possible that the device being measured, the output power is not constant.
