    Anyone seen this alarm?

It started after upgrading to 7.3. I found that the configuration tab was not working so I downgraded to 7.2. The alarm has been active on both revs after a reboot.

How can I clear the alarm?

Can you send the output of "show inventory"? If this is a PoE model, I suspect that there was an anomaly detected and so the Power Supply has shut off PoE until you physically remove the power cable and re-attach.

    Best regards,

That could be. Right now i'm setting it up in our lab and I have it plugged into a 7010 controller. Both device supply poe.

Yeah, this is the specific line of interest:

    Power Supply : Failed (580W)
    : 12V System Voltage Ok
    : 56V PoE Voltage Failed

If you disconnect all connections and un-plug/re-plug the power cord, does the switch go back into that state?

reseating the ethernet cable turned the alarm off. Not a big deal current if thats how its designed.... I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a RMA situation.

Yes, if we're receiving power inbound to a port, we shut-off the 56v rail to protect the switch. The 7010 shouldn't be recognizing us as a device to power up. Did you say just re-seating the cable corrected it?

It did, but the alert came back after a minute or so of plugging it back in.

I removed the ethernet and connected via fiber to avoid the issue.

I did think it was odd that the poe was triggered by the 7010. Both devices had poe lights active.

If you disable PoE on the respective interconnect ports, do you still see the issue? Do you have Prestandard PoE enabled?

Both devices are default except for an IP address.

I can play with the poe settings when I get a chance.

Just ran into the same issue on an S1500 with a 7010 controller.

We had a brownout and my S1500 rebooted, the 7010 did not. Since the link went down the 7010 then offered power to the S1500.

When the S1500 came up the show inventory listed the power supply as failed and the 56V poe as failed.

    Power Supply : Failed (580W)
                                  : 12V System Voltage Ok
                                  : 56V PoE Voltage Failed

The S1500 showed this output from show poe (My uplink is port 0/0/0)

    (Aruba7010) #show poe

    PoE Status
    ----------
Port Status Voltage(mV) Current(mA) Power (mW)
    ---- ------ ----------- ----------- ----------
    GE 0/0/0 On 55878 85 4700

I went into the 7010 and issued:

    interface gigabitethernet 0/0/0 no poe

    (Aruba7010) (config-if)#show poe

    PoE Status
    ----------
Port Status Voltage(mV) Current(mA) Power (mW)
    ---- ------ ----------- ----------- ----------
    GE 0/0/0 Off N/A N/A N/A

Once I did that the S1500 immediately started sending power to the ports and all is well!

    Power Supply : Present (580W)
                                  : 12V System Voltage Ok
                                  : 56V PoE Voltage Ok

    Thanks Madani!
