802.11n best NIC for hacking

Hi guys,

As the atheros chipset cards are a very good option for hacking and monitor 802.11a/b/g networks, is there a good option for 802.11n networks?

I mean what NIC should I buy?

Erick,

A good question would be what OS are you using and what tools to you want to run on it?

I've had some success with the built in atheros chips in my MacBook Pro. Wireshark can be used to capture wireless traffic as current versions of MacOS fully support RadioTap. MacPorts has a build of aircrack-ng that I have not tested yet and aircrack-ng 1.0rc3 seems to only be lacking driver plumbing to work just fine as well.

Rumor has it that more recent MacBook Pros are now using broadcom chips, though so your mileage may vary.
