Hi all, im trying to upgrade a WLC to version 220.127.116.11.
however when looking on the download os section of the aruba support page, it has two entries:-
Does anyone know the difference between the two, and if there are any issues with compatibility with AP 105s. I have looked through the release notes for this version but it isnt really clear on these two points.
thanks for any help given.

TBD means "To Be Decided".
In the case of ArubaOS 6.4.3, the guide describes AP-93.
In the IAPs with version 18.104.22.168-4.1, the release note said: "Support for IAP-92/93 is reintroduced in Instant 22.214.171.124-126.96.36.199 and will continue in future 6.4.x.x-4.1.x.x releases."
There are some limitations described in both guides.
Ever since the HPE/Aruba merge, it is confusing for me what is the underneath OS on each switch/router model. Is it provision or comware or arubaos?
Anyone has some reference regarding that? Especially if I am looking at HPE/Aruba switch, what is the easy way to find out the OS running on it?
...depends on the product portfolio branch? All the previous provision and Aruba OS switches are EOL?So can I say: new devices purchased today will either run provision based ArubaOS OR Comware OS depends on the product portfolio branch? All the previous provision and Aruba OS switches are EOL?

In our company we have 5 Alcatel-Lucent OAW-AP205. The firmware 188.8.131.52-184.108.40.206_57902 is outdated, and it is not possible to update through the web interface. Only our certified reseller can do this...
Is it possible to put the aruba OS on the APs and manage updates ourselves without a reseller? Is this legal/recommended or may I get in trouble? Anything else I should be aware of?

In their brand of IAPs, Alcatel had asked us to block auto updates via the image server. They want their customer to go to their support site and manually upgrade-assuming customer has a valid support contract. Have you tried contacting the partner? You can contact Alcatel support at email@example.com and voice your concern
Moving to Aruba brand AOS or Instant means you would migrate your IAPs to Aruba and be supported by Aruba. If this is an intention to migrate, we suggest you contact your local Aruba account team.
I need some advice on clearpass deployment using Aruba OS 8
I have an existing site with total auth endpoints around 8k, where we already allocate two subscriber 5k for radius servers
I am thinking about how to use two clearpass subs at the same time when we have two active-active controllers.
I am thinking about three possibilities :
1. Using VRRP in active-active. so each controller will be configured independently to different subs server.
So controller1 will use radius 1 as main, and radius 2 as backup radius, and the controller2 will be configured otherwise (radius 2 as main radius)
2. Using Active/standby LMS. each controller will be configured independenty just like option 1
3. Deploy the two controller in one OS8 cluster.
Question 1 : is option 1 and 2 is possible in OS 8?
Question 2 : Is there is a way to configure the controller cluster to do pointitng to two clearpass subs just like option 2?
thanks for any reply
You can configure the controller to load balance RADIUS traffic across the two ClearPass servers ba...You can configure the controller to load balance RADIUS traffic across the two ClearPass servers based on the Server Group and AAA Profile assigned under the Virtual-AP
Do you have your controllers in L-2 clustered?

I'm trying to upgrade my controller to use Aruba OS version 8.2. I've succeeded in doing so on Partition #0, and was able to set it to the default partition. During boot-up, I can access it via https in my web browser (Chrome). I went through the setup, and allowed the controller to reboot. Instead of being presented with a login page, however, I was presented with the same configuration page. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?! I can only guess that I'm missing a step in the process that would write the configuration before reboot. Any help and/or ideas are greatly appreciated!
I know that there are changes in the aruba login information but I could no longer access or use my access to download new OS. Do you guys know where to download the newer OS? Thanks

So I've got a IAP-305 that auto-joined my controller network when I was trying to do a WAN IAP update and flashed itself to a non-instant image. Because the IAP 300s don't have a standard console plugin I'm not sure how I'm going to flash this back to an Instant image. Does anyone know the procudure? My controller OS is 220.127.116.11 if that makes a difference.
So we recently received our first Aruba 2920 switches because we were told that the MAS 2500/3500 switches are going end-of-sale.
Anyways, I am trying to figure out what OS/software/firmware I should be flashing these with to get the current? They shipped with the apparent software version WB.15.15.0012. Am I supposed to put ArubaOS on them? What version? If I need to use HP firmware...where do I get that from?
