Hi all, im trying to upgrade a WLC to version 220.127.116.11.
however when looking on the download os section of the aruba support page, it has two entries:-
Does anyone know the difference between the two, and if there are any issues with compatibility with AP 105s. I have looked through the release notes for this version but it isnt really clear on these two points.
thanks for any help given.
In our company we have 5 Alcatel-Lucent OAW-AP205. The firmware 18.104.22.168-22.214.171.124_57902 is outdated, and it is not possible to update through the web interface. Only our certified reseller can do this...
Is it possible to put the aruba OS on the APs and manage updates ourselves without a reseller? Is this legal/recommended or may I get in trouble? Anything else I should be aware of?

In their brand of IAPs, Alcatel had asked us to block auto updates via the image server. They want their customer to go to their support site and manually upgrade-assuming customer has a valid support contract. Have you tried contacting the partner? You can contact Alcatel support at email@example.com and voice your concern
Moving to Aruba brand AOS or Instant means you would migrate your IAPs to Aruba and be supported by Aruba. If this is an intention to migrate, we suggest you contact your local Aruba account team.
I am trying to configure the wired ports on an AP 205H. How is this accomplished in version 8? Does it have to be done CLI? How do you associate an AP Wired Port profile to an AP Group or AP? The documentation indicates you need to associate the AP Wired Port profile to a AAA profile? How is this done???

AP-Group > Profiles > AP and then assign it to the correct eth port.
Make sure that you have enabled Advanced View under your login profile
(right hand corner), otherwise you wont be able to see the Profiles option

TBD means "To Be Decided".
In the case of ArubaOS 6.4.3, the guide describes AP-93.
In the IAPs with version 126.96.36.199-4.1, the release note said: "Support for IAP-92/93 is reintroduced in Instant 188.8.131.52-184.108.40.206 and will continue in future 6.4.x.x-4.1.x.x releases."
There are some limitations described in both guides.

As i was settting up our 7210 controller i created a few profiles to create Virtal APs. Now I need to delete those profiles, but i cannot seem to get them deleted.
As you can see it states that the configuration is inherited. Where can i find the top level of inheritance for the profile?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you for the quick replies, which was helpful informaiton. It appears that in the Aruba OS 18.104.22.168, the "mobility Controller" heading has configurable settings, which are a higher level than any setting made on a node below it. I have found that some settings can only be made on a node, such as setting a static IP address for a VLAN. Once i selected the highes level "mobility controller" from the navigation on the left hand side of the screen, i was able to delete the profile. for the virutal AP
Ever since the HPE/Aruba merge, it is confusing for me what is the underneath OS on each switch/router model. Is it provision or comware or arubaos?
Anyone has some reference regarding that? Especially if I am looking at HPE/Aruba switch, what is the easy way to find out the OS running on it?
...depends on the product portfolio branch? All the previous provision and Aruba OS switches are EOL?So can I say: new devices purchased today will either run provision based ArubaOS OR Comware OS depends on the product portfolio branch? All the previous provision and Aruba OS switches are EOL?

To complete the overview, the legacy Aruba Mobility Access Switches (MAS: S1500, S2500, S3500, end-of-sale), ran ArubaOS which was derived from the Aruba controllers.
I know that there are changes in the aruba login information but I could no longer access or use my access to download new OS. Do you guys know where to download the newer OS? Thanks

Hey Team, I have a 7200 Controller (Master and Local) running 22.214.171.124 and ClearPass which is currently at 126.96.36.199909. What code versions are being recommended for both CP and Controllers? I am not sure i want to move to 8.0 code yet. But will consider if there is good argument for it :)
*I am wanting to implement profiling with CP.
If there is a link that has a compatibility matrix of the Code versions with bug documentation that would be greatly appreciated too.
Thanks for you help in advance!!
...matrix for CPPM to AOS exists because CPPM works with multiple vendors, not just Aruba. I have used...
My rule for any updates: Unless you have pressing issue like bugs or hardware support, do not jump in but wait and see at the first major “dot 0” version, like CPPM 6.7.0; Go to the highest available of your current version, like CPPM 6.6.10, same thing for AOS.
I don’t think the compatibility matrix for CPPM to AOS exists because CPPM works with multiple vendors, not just Aruba. I have used CPPM profiling since AOS 5 or even earlier with no issues. Don’t forget to read the release note and caveats which are not too long, and it is conveniently link in the software download page.
