Hi all, im trying to upgrade a WLC to version 220.127.116.11.
however when looking on the download os section of the aruba support page, it has two entries:-
Does anyone know the difference between the two, and if there are any issues with compatibility with AP 105s. I have looked through the release notes for this version but it isnt really clear on these two points.
thanks for any help given.
Hi Colin, i have a Aruba 7210.
Then you need ArubaOS_72xx_18.104.22.168
The AP-105 is still supported in 6.5.x

TBD means "To Be Decided".
In the case of ArubaOS 6.4.3, the guide describes AP-93.
In the IAPs with version 22.214.171.124-4.1, the release note said: "Support for IAP-92/93 is reintroduced in Instant 126.96.36.199-188.8.131.52 and will continue in future 6.4.x.x-4.1.x.x releases."
There are some limitations described in both guides.

Ever since the HPE/Aruba merge, it is confusing for me what is the underneath OS on each switch/router model. Is it provision or comware or arubaos?
Anyone has some reference regarding that? Especially if I am looking at HPE/Aruba switch, what is the easy way to find out the OS running on it?
So can I say: new devices purchased today will either run provision based ArubaOS OR Comware OS depends on the product portfolio branch? All the previous provision and Aruba OS switches are EOL?

Not sure about routers.
Aruba switches run ArubaOS-Switch which is a newer version of ProVision with Aruba-centric features.

The HPE FlexNetwork Routers (https://www.hpe.com/us/en/networking/routers.html) run Comware as well.
To complete the overview, the legacy Aruba Mobility Access Switches (MAS: S1500, S2500, S3500, end-of-sale), ran ArubaOS which was derived from the Aruba controllers.

I need some advice on clearpass deployment using Aruba OS 8
I have an existing site with total auth endpoints around 8k, where we already allocate two subscriber 5k for radius servers
I am thinking about how to use two clearpass subs at the same time when we have two active-active controllers.
I am thinking about three possibilities :
1. Using VRRP in active-active. so each controller will be configured independently to different subs server.
So controller1 will use radius 1 as main, and radius 2 as backup radius, and the controller2 will be configured otherwise (radius 2 as main radius)
2. Using Active/standby LMS. each controller will be configured independenty just like option 1
3. Deploy the two controller in one OS8 cluster.
Question 1 : is option 1 and 2 is possible in OS 8?
Question 2 : Is there is a way to configure the controller cluster to do pointitng to two clearpass subs just like option 2?
thanks for any reply
You can configure the controller to load balance RADIUS traffic across the two ClearPass servers ba...You can configure the controller to load balance RADIUS traffic across the two ClearPass servers based on the Server Group and AAA Profile assigned under the Virtual-AP
Do you have your controllers in L-2 clustered?

I'm trying to upgrade my controller to use Aruba OS version 8.2. I've succeeded in doing so on Partition #0, and was able to set it to the default partition. During boot-up, I can access it via https in my web browser (Chrome). I went through the setup, and allowed the controller to reboot. Instead of being presented with a login page, however, I was presented with the same configuration page. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?! I can only guess that I'm missing a step in the process that would write the configuration before reboot. Any help and/or ideas are greatly appreciated!
So I've got a IAP-305 that auto-joined my controller network when I was trying to do a WAN IAP update and flashed itself to a non-instant image. Because the IAP 300s don't have a standard console plugin I'm not sure how I'm going to flash this back to an Instant image. Does anyone know the procudure? My controller OS is 184.108.40.206 if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the alternative suggestion - I have attempted this but was surprised when the CLI command 'ap redeploy' was not available. I'm running an Aruba7205-US on version 220.127.116.11 - do you happen to know if the command was updated to something else? [ap ?] provides the following output - no redeploy option is available:
arm Show ARM information
ble-init-action Initiate BLE action
clarity-synthetic Convert AP to clarity synthetic mode for moni
consolidated-provision Get all APs consolidated provision
debug Debug an AP
gap-db GAP DB related messages
image-preload Configure downloading of new AP images in
multizone Multizone commands
packet-capture Packet Capture commands
process AP's process
randomize-channel Instruct AP to change to a random channe
regulatory Regulatory commands
spectrum Spectrum Monitor Commands
test Run test command on AP
You can use the reset button, should be covered in the installation guide.

Hi everyone, all the documentation for upgrading aruba OS states that best practice is to update the backup partition first, then you can recover to the default partition if something goes wrong.
but it doesnt say what to do if something DOESNT go wrong with the upgrade i.e. you now have an upgraded backup partition with version e.g. 18.104.22.168 and a default partition with version 22.214.171.124,
In order to complete the upgrade would i have to change the default boot partition to the newly upgraded partition and then restart the controller?

When you upload firmware to the controller, the the boot partition is changed to that partition. You only have to reboot after the firmware is loaded to finish the upgrade.

Our environment hosts multiple local WLCs to paired master WLCs; all operating v188.8.131.52. We are housing a new logistics facility, and plan to place 2-3 outdoor WAPs for wireless access in the semi cabs (while at dock).
I originally spec'd AP 325s for indoor use, and AP 365s for the outdoor models. I read that AP 325s require v6.5.2, however. As the timeline is short, and v6.5.2 will require updating our enterprise, what is an equivalent/similar outdoor WAP that will operate on 184.108.40.206?

Have you taken a look at the AP270 series? The main difference is that these aren't 11ac Wave 2.
What about if you purchase the 360 series and configured as Instant, then when the upgrade is completed within your infrastructure convert them to be a controller managed AP?

I've had a look at the documentation and it states:
An exception to this daily update is an automatic channel change due to a radar detection event or high noise interference. If an AP detects a radar event on its current operating channel, that AP automatically changes to another supported channel to avoid radar interference, and does not wait for the daily RF configuration update from the Mobility Master. An AP may also automatically change channels if a very high noise level is detected on the current channel, if at least one other channel is free of noise.
