Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba access points.
The CA-SPOE-ADAPT-3 is used for serial console access to an access point (AP) in the cases where you are either getting power directly or there is a PoE switch that power is received from. The SPOE-3 plugs into the USB serial adapter on one end and breaks out the other end to go to the AP on one hand and the network on the other. The ends are labeled for easy identification.
The SPOE-4 is used when there is a power injector. It is a small box with a connection for the USB serial adapter, one RJ-45 to go to the AP, and another RJ-45 to go to the midspan power injector, which supplies power and the network connection.
