Q:
How do you configure SNMPv3 (and credentials) for ArubaOS-Switches?
ASE Link: Go to the solution
A:
This solution will configure SNMPv3 credentials on a switch running ArubaOS-Switch (or the legacy ProVision OS).
Minimum version varies by switch model; should work on any ProCurve/ArubaOS-Switch device running 15.13 or newer.
This solution will configure SNMPv3 credentials, including user accounts, groups, and SNMP options.

Our requirement is all snmpv3 access requires SHA Auth and AES PRIV. We also only allow readonly access via SNMP, which it appears the Aruba switches don't support.
While I can create a user with aoth AUTH and PRIV, when I assign the user to a group, the security requirements of the group are what is enforced for the user connection...
It appears the Aruba switches, support the following:
managerauth Require authentication, can access all objects.managerpriv Require privacy and authentication, can access all objects.operatorauth Requires authentication, limited access to objects.operatornoauth No authentication required, limited access to objects.
How do I have a readonly user, that only has read access to the objects on the switch, but is required to use both AUTH and PRIV to connect?
