    Hi all,

    I need some help here.

Some clients that connect to AP has suddenly disconnected by itself.

It happened on random devices at random times.

When i tried to check the log using 'show ap client trail-info' command on devices that disconnected, the log show this info 'wlan driver excessive tx fail quick kickout'.

Standalone Controller: Aruba 7210 with os version 8.6.0.2

    AP: 305 and 315

    Any ideas what causes these?

If you don't get a quick answer, please open a case with Aruba support.

This has already been observed.  Please open a Technical Support case to get to the bottom of your specific issue.

If max-tx-fail retries value is reached, then the client will be deauthed from the AP. But like everyone has been saying, I would open a TAC case.

Is this issue fixed ? We experience the same with quite a lot of AP-315's (about 1/4 of our installed base) on AOS version 8.6.0.5 currently and having an uptime of around 40 days.

After an apboot, the issue is gone for a while.

on excessive retries, the AP deauths the client.

8.6 build onwards, in this case you should see the error :" Wlan driver excessive tx fail quick kickout".

Previously, you would have seen the error:  "Denied: AP Ageout".

investigating the excessive retries by doing air captures would be required for further analysis

We have been experiencing this for some time as well. Rebooting the APs seem to alleviate the symptom for a short period of time. We will be upgrading to 8.7.xx as soon as we get a few AP 100 models off the network and a 8.7 conservative release comes out.  Thank for all the updates....

Did you get this fixed ? We are seeing these logs "wlan driver excessive tx fail quick kickout" with some users with wifi issues. We are using 8.6.0.17 and in 8.6.0.10 release notes mention that was fixed

wlan driver excessive tx fail quick kickout is a general message that means a client roamed out of coverage and the access point still had data to deliver to the client.  It is not specific.  I would open a technical support case to determine your issue.

We are not going to 8.7.x.x but it seems 8.6.0.17 has a lot of fixes for these oddities that our clients have seen. Out of 6000 APs we are 97% 315's. We are planning to upgrade to 8.6.0.17. We have had TAC involved with some of the issues.
