Hi, I dont know if this is a right community, I just bought a second hand AP304 and thought that I can extend my mesh network of existing two IAP305. But it seems my IAP 305 can not see my AP304. I thought 305/304  is not a big diffrence, both are 300 series, but still there is some issue. Can some one please tell me is this possible to add AP304? I have no extra controller except instant of IAP self.

    Hi,

Make it SURE, What model is this AP 304, IAP 304 or AP304.

IAP304 will work fine regardless of controller. And AP304 work fine must managed with a controller.

    Regards

You can add IAP304 to an IAP305 cluster.
You cannot add AP304 to an IAP305 cluster.

AP-304 requires a separate controller, like these, and licenses to operate.

Thanks Herman,This confirm that for AP (not IAP) you need a separate controller. I bought a wrong accesspoint.
