IAP 335 Boot Loop

    Posted Jan 14, 2021 12:23 PM
Hi There, I have 5 brand new IAP 335s that I am having issues with. Given that the same scenario is occurring with all 5 of them, I am going to assume that I m doing something wrong.

I have taken them out of the box and plugged them into my PoE switch ( I am doing this one at a time). They power up and go through the boot cycle, however they never get tot he point of cycling green/amber. They just continuously flash green. There are no other APs on this network and I have let each one sit for hours (and even overnight) before removing it and trying a different one. All 5 of them are doing the same thing. I have connected via console, but i do not see anything in there that is jumping out at me, albeit I don't quite know what I'm looking for.

Any help for this newbie is greatly appreciated!

Hi, the network you have them plugged into, does it give dhcp or are you assigning the ip addresses via the boot up sequence?

    thanks

    Hi,

it doesn't look like it's getting an IP, do you have the vlans trucked on the port the AP is connected on?

according to logs it seems you have connected uplink to ENET1...connect and check with ENET0

Make sure you have connected E0 as opposed to E1.

    Ethernet port 1 mode: active-sta[ 21.569263] bonding begin=e34c6000 end=e34d9000 scan pass

There is no active uplink on E0, so it is falling back to mesh.

No uplink active. Becoming Mesh Point

Also, the preferred POE option for the IAP-315 is 802.3at, not 802.3af which is currently being provided.

    Power: 802.3af POE
