    Hi

I like to consult on a problem I have. I have a mixed clusters of AP-500, 505h, 518, 535 and 565. They are on 8.7.1.0 firmware and managed via Aruba Central. The AP-565 were added to the cluster yesterday and it joined the cluster. Unfortunately, they (all of the 565) weren't advertising any SSIDs. When I click on Central under Global > Device > [ap-565-1], it shows both radios as disabled.

When I go to the AP group > Devices > Access Points > [ap-565-1] > Radio, it shows that both radios are configured to be enabled.

The APs are connected to Aruba 2930M-SR with 1050W PS.

I think I may have found the answer. It has to do with the DRT version. It did not have the updated DRT.

If the cluster is managed from Central, you won't be able to upgrade the DRT version from Central or WebUI, but I found a way to do it via CLI:

    • Download the DRT file from asp.arubanetworks.com and place it in an FTP/HTTP/TFTP site which is accessible from the APs - in my case I uploaded to the Public Guest files in the ClearPass server :)
    • From the AP acting as VC for the cluster, run the command: upgrade-drt  [URL to DTRT File]  (ftp/http/tftp).
    • Verify DRT upgrade status with: show drt state
      • APs will first download the file
      • Then into upgrade mode
      • Finally into upgraded-done

This way you don't have to remove the cluster management from Central, and as long as there is server to host the file accessible from the APs it works, the server can be external or internal to your network. ClearPass Guest Public FIles to the rescue ;)
