    Hi everyone,

    Could any one help me with the steps, not any VRD or guide, to setup an IAP with the switch.

    What port configuration should be done in the switch. if the AP is currently working as an RAP and i want to make it an IAP for temporary time with initial configuration and provisioning steps.

    Thank you

    For an IAP, the switch configuration would be defined as a trunk port. The untagged VLAN would be the IAPs management VLAN (where the IAP obtains an IP address for management) and the tagged VLANs would be your client VLANs.

    e.g

    VLAN10 = Untagged = IAP Mgmt
    VLAN20 = Tagged = Corporate WLAN
    VLAN30 = Tagged = Guest WLAN

    The provision of the switch port? That all depends on the switch model :) For example, a AOS-SW switch...

    interface 4
    name "ArubaIAP"
    tagged vlan 200
    untagged vlan 1
    exit

    Here's the initial provisioning info for setting up an IAP

    Dear Craig Syme

    in case I need to use different VLANs, VLAN10 IAP mgmt and Virtual controller IP from the corporate subnet the below configuration will work or not.

    VLAN10 = Untagged = IAP Mgmt
    VLAN20 = Tagged = Corporate WLAN
    VLAN30 = Tagged = Guest WLAN

    As Craig Syme mentioned, that was an example only.  Adjust the vlan ids to suit your environment.
