Aruba Controller License issue

    I am inquiring about the license issue of my client's controller.

    The controller of my client company is 7210.

    The licenses used by the controller are Capacity and PEF licenses, each of which has 17 licenses. I'm using all 17 of them.

    However, when my client connects two test APs, it connects to the controller and provides services even though there is not enough license.

    As far as I know, if the license is insufficient, the AP can't be connected, is it a bug?

    On your license server (MM if you have one), run these commands

    show license summary

    show license-usage


    The summary will show you the total number of license(s), including any evaluation licenses you may have, and license-usage will show you how many are currently in use.

    From there you can see if you are actually using more APs then what you have licensed

    My client's controller doesn't have a demo license.

    When i enter 'show license-usage ap' then screen as below is displayed.



    As far as I know, the same number of AP licenses and PEF licenses must exist, so that the license can be effective.

    The licenses will be effective however you will be restricted to the smallest license. For example if you have 19x AP and 17xPEFNG, you will be licensed for 17 APs only.
