I have a stack of five 2930M switches with four JL321A and one JL323A.  I noticed today that the global status LEDs on four of the switches are blinking.  All switches have the JL325A 2p stacking module.  Two switches have the JL078A 40GbE QSFP+ module.  It might be helpful to show this in tabular form.

Since I know that "fast" and "slow" are relative terms, I timed the flashing.  What I'm calling slow is blinking about 35 times/minute and fast is 75 times/minute.  Looking at the diagnostic LED section at https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-a00018958en_us#N10142, I don't see any mention of a fast orange state for the global status LED.  No other LED on the front or back is anything but solid green.  If it matters, the switches are running WC.16.06.0006.

I don't see any relevant log errors.  Can anyone explain why my global status LEDs are blinking?

    Greetings!

Have you checked the output of 'show stacking detail' and verified that all stack port links are displayed as Active? (If you choose to post that output here, make sure it is sanitized by removing serial numbers and MAC addresses first.)

Other things to check as part of the troubleshooting process are the output of the following commands:

    switch# show system power-supply

Look for any abnormal indicators, such as a power supply present but not powered, a fan not working properly, or an OverTemp value of YES.

If that doesn't help, check the event log with filters for higher severity events ('show logging' with either '-e' or '-m' flags).

If none of these options helps identify the cause, log a TAC case to engage additional resources for troubleshooting the issue.

same thing happening here, the global LED is flashing and all the suggested checks look good to me.

is there a command so i can remotely verify if there is an error condition?

would be so much easier if the switch can tell me whats wrong rarther then execute 10 commands...?
