    This is an ArubaOS switch. Do you know the switch password (i.e need to change it) or have you forgotten it entirely and need to reset it?

    #password manager user-name xxx plaintext "new password"

    Or

    #password manager plaintext "newpassword"

    Theose are the commands to modify the switch password

    Option 1 for specific user
    Option 2 for default admin

    Logout from switch and try login using new password

    I first entered switch username and password and then I typed this command::#password manager user-name xxx plaintext "new password" and after that, it went into user-mode and it is not showing the switch name and unable to logout.

    In case someone else runs across this - make sure you are in Config T (configure terminal) mode before you try to run the commands above

    Once connected to the switch:
    Config t
    password manager plaintext <password>
