Hi!
Let's see the first SKU you asked for: J9821...well, first of all, it is probably the J9821
A...if so that SKU represents a bundle made of:
- 1 Aruba 5406R zl2 Switch chassis with 6 free slots (J9821A)
- 1 Aruba 5400R zl2 Management Module (J9827A)
- 1 Aruba 5406R zl2 Switch Fan Tray (J9831A)
- No Power Supply (min 1 unit, max 2 units)
So...where you found 363 Watts value?
The power consumption in "idle" mode (no interface connected, no PoE supplied) should also consider eventually:
- At least one MM (J9827A) or at best two MMs
- At least one PS Unit or, at best, two PS Units
- Quantity and Type of I/O Module(s) installed
Only then the power calculation will be reasonable. I don't believe a 5406 chassis with one MMs and one PS drains 363 Watts at idle.

Hi,
With regards to the power consumption values provided (without PoE devices connected, i.e. base values)

- JL003A- 423 W
- JL001A- 630 W
- JL074A- 145W
