    Hi

I see our 8320s sourcing DNS to 8.8.8.8 but cannot find this in the config of the switch. Assume this is some kind of factory default. How can it be disabled?

    Cheers

Hi @tkrjukoff, DNS at 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS) is not factory default at all.

You could check by watching at the output of show ip dns CLI command on your Aruba 8320.

Are you sure there is no line like (example) ip dns server-address <IP-of-DNS-Server> vrf mgmt (or vrf default) on your running configuration?

Which version of ArubaOS-CX is your Aruba 8320 running on?

    Hi @parnassus

show ip dns gives a blank output, no dns configured in any of the VRFs.

SW version: 10.05.0020. The switches burst 8 U/DNS packets every 5 minutes.

    /etc/resolv.conf has nothing either.

    A bit puzzled here???

    Cheers

Please disable central and check that you no longer have these dns queries triggered by the switch:
    8320(config)# aruba-central
    8320(config-aruba-central)# disable

    Regards,
    Vincent
