Please help me with this issue.

    Have you followed this process?

    Configure VRRP

Use the following commands to configure VRRP

Configure the switch's own IP address on the VLAN.

    Core-1(config)# vlan 10

    Core-1(vlan-10)# ip address 10.101.10.3/24

Create VRRP VRID 10 on VLAN 10.

    Core-1(vlan-10) vrrp vrid 10

    Set the virtual IP address.

    Core-1(vlan-10-vrid-10)# virtual-ip-address 10.101.10.1

Set the priority so that Core-1 becomes Master in this VLAN.

    Core-1(vlan-10-vrid-10)# priority 254

    Enable the VRRP instance.

    Core-1(vlan-10-vrid-10)# enable

If you have not already done so, return to the global configuration and enable VRRP globally.

    Core-1(vlan-10-vrid-10)# exit

    Core-1(vlan-10)# exit

    Core-1(config)# router vrrp ipv4 enable

Complete the same steps on the Core-2 switch. In this example, you do not configure a priority on Core-2, but accept the default priority, 100.

    Core-2(config)# vlan 10

    Core-2(vlan-10)# ip address 10.101.10.2/24

    Core-2(vlan-10) vrrp vrid 10

    Core-2(vlan-10-vrid-10)# virtual-ip-address 10.101.10.1

    Core-2(vlan-10-vrid-10)# enable

    Core-2(vlan-10-vrid-10)# exit

    Core-2(vlan-10)# exit

    Core-2(config)# router vrrp ipv4 enable

You can use a display command to quickly verify that Core-1 is Master in VLAN 10 and the virtual IP address is 10.101.10.1.

    Hi,

Same configuration done in both 3810m switches  but the still the same issue.

          I have some question

    1.       How many vlan we can configure vrrp vlan in 3810m switch.

    2.       We have 14 racks(hub room)  10  rack  will be in stack  of 3 switches and 2 switches,

reaming 4 rack will be in 1 switches each

    3.       What will be the connectivity.

    Please help me with this.

    Thanks & Regards

Hi Chandan K.P. are you able to share sanitized running configurations of both the Aruba 3810M switches you've configured to provide the VRRP to your peers?

Did you already read the entire Chapter 17 "Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP)" of the Aruba 3810M and 5400R Multicasting and Routing Guide (for AOS-S 16.11)?

From what I'm seeing and what your saying, are you confusing VRRP with VSX or VSF? Just to make sure you understand:

VRRP is a protocol used to provide L3 gateway redundancy. Two or more devices each get configured with an IP  in the subnet, and then share the same Virtual IP (VIP). The devices participating in VRRP need to be L2 adjacent as the protocol is negotiated this way. If the devices are not reachable over the VLAN VRRP is running on, you will run into issues. Each VLAN should be configured to use a different VRRP-ID as well. You do not want to use the SAME VRRP-ID across all of your VLANs.

VSF and VSX are HP/Aruba switch stacking protocols. They are used to logically group physical switches to take advantage of things like multi-chassis LAG, one point of management access, etc..

In your case, it looks like configuring VRRP on your distribution switches is what you want to do. Keep an eye on spanning-tree and make sure your L2 is extended between the two switches to allow VRRP to work. You might want to run a couple links between the distribution switches, configure them as a LAG, and trunk your VRRP VLANs across it. Also tune the Spanning-tree metrics on those links to make sure they are always in a forwarding state. If possible, configure the distribution switches to be a VSX pair, letting you create an MLAG between them and the switch stacks. This way you do not have to worry about blocked links because of spanning-tree.

...and add to that that the VSF (Virtual Switching Framework based on a Frontplane Stacking approach for switch virtualization, supported on some specific ArubaOS-Switch based switch series such as Aruba 2930F or Aruba 5400R zl2 or, again, on some ArubaOS-CX based low end switch series such as the Aruba 6300F/M), the Hardware Stacking (known also as the Backplane Stacking approach as supported by the Aruba 3810M or the Aruba 2920) or the VSX (Virtual Switching eXtension clustering technology supported only on some specific mid-high end Aruba CX switch series) will let you to overcome the necessity of VRRP (when it's needed) because they all "embed" VIP gateway and virtualized forwarding/routing features...so, basically, if you deploy - just to say - a VSF or a VSX, then you generally don't need to worry about deploying VRRP feature once you rely on the L2/L3 features provided by those two virtualization/clustering technologies, the same could be said about Hardware Stacking clusters made of Aruba 3810M.

Dear Chandan K.P. can you explain the sentence "we configured vrrp with backplane stacking" ? are you saying you enabled VRRP between two different Aruba 3810 backplane stacks (Aruba 3810M Backplane Stack "A" ---- VRRP ---- Aruba 3810M Backplane Stack "B") or what else ?

Hello, personally I find quite hard to guess what you are really meaning when you describe your scenario using so few details and so sparingly sentences: no running configurations posted, no network topology with a clear indication of who-is-who...let me say that starting a "discover my puzzle" game as first step before trying to fix it is quite time consuming. Isn't it?

As a Network Engineer, you should know that troubleshooting a specific scenario requires a detailed description first, given that you should describe the "as-is" complete status to let Aruba Community members to stop guessing what you're meaning and, if possible, to start helping you understanding what's going on your network.

It looks like VRRP is working fine on VLANs in MSTP Instance 15:

    spanning-tree instance 15 vlan 2642 2647 2667
    spanning-tree instance 15 priority 0
Have you taken a look at spanning tree in the other instances? Is L2 being blocked by STP between the Distribution Switches ?

What configuration need to change  on switch side,

As per connectivity diagram  we connected   all the Distribution switches  access switches.

instance 15 (R0 Rack )  connected between two distribution switches and  all other racks  are connected  between rack.

for vrrp configuration what will be the connectivity between  distribution switches to access switches?

Does even the ping succeed between the interfaces participating to VRRP? Are you able to see the neighbors ARP/MAC ? If not, fix/enable connectivity between VRRP-nodes at VRRP network/subnet and check VRRP status again.
