    Hey guys,

We have around 400 AP-515 model access points operating in the environment.

They are connected to ArubaOS-S 2930M R0M67A switches, when enabling the commands "debug destination session" and "debug event" I could see these messages on the screen:

    W 06/30/21 17:10:52 00328 FFI: ST2-CMDR: port 1/8-Excessive jabbering/fragments.
    See Help

As additional information, the access points are connected to smart rate ports and are traveling at 2.5Gb speed through category 6A cables.

What should I do to stop these messages?

    Hi Leonardo,

do you have jumbo frames enabled on the switch?
Alternatively, you could change the MTU size of the AP group on the MM.

If this message only appears for a single interface, there might be a physical problem with a cable or NIC.

    Hi Bjarne

On the "jumbo frame" follows the result of the "show jumbos" command:

    2930M# show jumbos

    Jumbos Global Values

    Configured : Max Frame Size : 9216 IP-MTU : 9198
    In Use : Max Frame Size : 9216 IP-MTU : 9198

What MTU value do you consider acceptable?

About messages, they appear on all interfaces that the access points are connected to.

Thats are the default values, which is OK.

You need to enable jumbo frames on the VLAN the APs are tunneling to the controller. The reason is that the frames from the APs are slightly bigger than default 1500 MTU because of the tunnel.

    For example:

    VLAN 1234
      name APMgmt
      jumbo
    exit

You can verify with "show vlan":

VLAN ID Name | Status Voice Jumbo
    ------- -------------------------------- + ---------- ----- -----
    1 DEFAULT_VLAN | Port-based No No
    1234 APMgmt | Port-based No Yes

    Edit:
Alternatively, you could change the SAP MTU in the AP profile on the controller to 1300.

    Hi Bjarne, how are you?

One last question, when setting the SAP MTU value to 1300 in the AP profile in MM, can the access points disconnect?
