    Hi Choh,

It looks like a possible HW problem to me. Are you able to write on the flash of the switch (emmc card is used for this switch model) - saving configs, transferring files etc.?
I will advise you to open a case with Aruba, so the support will check the device for you and will help you further.

    Hi ,

    Thanks for reply

I tried to save , it got error message.

    Copying configuration: [Failure]
    failed to update checkpoint startup-config

These are pair of switches form VSF stacking. the syslog error message mentioned the hardware error on module 1/1.
Does it mean the switch 1(master) of the VSF stack had hardware problem and just need to replce the switch 1(master) only.

    # show vsf

    MAC Address : b8:d4:xxxxxx

    Topology : Chain

    Hi Choh,

Member 1 is the master of the VSF and when you save the config, the VSF is saving it on the master (module 1/1 - the master is managing the configuration of all the devices). The config and the SW files are synchronized with the other members and probably the standby MM 2/1 will be affected as well.
    You may try to:
    - issue the command "show system resource-utilization all" and check the mmc health
    - connect to the standby member (command "member 2") and check, if there are some kind of actions/commands available, that will interact with the flash
    - if you reboot member 1 I am not 100% sure, if the device will boot correctly

For the future make sure you are using version newer as 10.05.0021 with your devices, as there is important improvement for the storage util:

    https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00107151en_us

    Page 3:
"IMPORTANT: Aruba switches covered by this release note use eMMC or SSD storage. This isnon-volatile memory for persistent storage of config, files, databases, scripts, and so forth.Aruba recommends updating to version 10.05.0021 or later to implement significantimprovements to memory usage and prolong the life of the switch"

    And Storage bug ID 91243.
