Device with Static IP

    I noticed that several devices with Static IP are giving :
    Failed to get value for attributes=[Category, Device Name, Hostname, OS Family].
    Failed to get value for attributes=[Category]

    When Reauthentication is taking place the device does not receive the correct role due to incorrect device registration,
    although the role is tied with MAC vendor identification. 
    Could you please advise on how to handle those devices?

    Hi, you are getting that becasue clearpass can't profile the endpoint since the IP is static. There are a couple ways you could profle these endpoints.

    1.- Use a subnet scan to see if the devices respond: https://community.arubanetworks.com/HigherLogic/System/DownloadDocumentFile.ashx?DocumentFileKey=f056640a-be2c-4d6a-a548-fa3c9f0ee87b

    2.- You could use a DHCP server to assign the specific IPs to those devices based on their macs, they will always receive de same IP, and then have the ip helper-address point to Clearpass so it can profile the devices based on the dhcp-request.
