The "USL returned -6..." errors described by the OP do indicate some kind of problem which requires replacement of the unit. My switch is currently in the process of being replaced. I was not told what the specific problem with the unit was, just that the switch is being replaced.
The unit being replaced was placed in service at the end of April in 2021, and my initial post here (on May 1) was my first observation of the issue. The problem seems to have gotten worse over time.
