    Hi

Just got our new Core switches (2 + 2) installed in our 2 site 2 DC setup. Site DCs run VSX and between sites MCLAG. Everything is running great internally and outbound towards our legacy L2 infra.

What troubles me is that I cannot neither see nor add/delete VLANs in Aruba 8320s through IMC. Not visible in VLAN-topology nor VLAN add/delete menu options available.

Is this feature planned (road map) on future releases?

    Cheers

    Timo Krjukoff

    Hi Timo,

AFAIK - specifically with regard to ArubaOS-CX (and, partly, to VSX too) - the below features were introduces after the HPE IMC 7.3 E0705 GA release (with its patches P07 and latest P10):

Features released in IMC PLAT 7.3 (E0705P10):

IMC topology show the topology of a VSX pair of devices.

Features released in IMC PLAT 7.3 (E0705P07):

    ACL support for ArubaOS-CX.
    VLAN support for ArubaOS-CX.
    ICC support for ArubaOS-CX.

So be sure to have your HPE IMC 7.3 E0705 updated at its patch P07 or (better) at its latest released patch P10 (Release notes here).

Did the upgrade but still cannot in NW Topology display VLAN information on either 8320 switches nor on their links.

    Hi guys,
Is there anything new on this topic? I've upgraded IMC to E0706P06. VSX topology is working but I cannot see VLANs for my CX Switches (6200F / 8325 / 8360).
All Switches are on firmware version 10_09_0010, I've created an SNMP account the following way:

    snmpv3 security-level auth-privacy
snmpv3 user SNMP-USER-IMC auth sha auth-pass plaintext xxxxxxxx priv aes priv-pass plaintext yyyyyyyy access-level rw

Is there anything else to consider?

    Hello there,

For vlan management component to work with Aruba OS CX you need to configure  Restfull Api.

You enable it on the switch with command https-server vrf (mgmt/deault/etc)
In some models you also need to put the command https-server rest access-mode read-write  in 6200 devices it is by default
In iMC Restfull Api is to be configured on the device page:

Once you configure it you need to synchronize the device in iMC  and should be able to see the vlan management tab.

    Hi Marina

Yes, that did the trick. had not found the info regarding the https-server. only tried to configure the REST API.

    Thank you

    Hi Marina,
thank you for this information. The VLAN management section is now available in IMC. But I think the information about the Access Port configuration is not correct. All Access Ports are showing "PVID 1".
But in my config they are not in VLAN 1.
    Any ideas?

    Regards.

    Edit:
I have different switches (8360, 8325, 6200) This problem seems to be only on the 6200 switches....
On the 8325 it shows the correct information.

    Edit2:
After trying a little  bit I noticed, that the configuration on my access ports seems to be the problem.
    The config is:
    interface 1/1/1
     no shutdown
     no routing
     vlan access 16
     rate-limit unknown-unicast 1000 kbps
     rate-limit broadcast 1000 kbps
     rate-limit multicast 4000 kbps
     spanning-tree root-guard
     spanning-tree tcn-guard
     spanning-tree port-type admin-edge
     loop-protect
     loop-protect action tx-rx-disable
     exit

with this settings on my port, the IMC shows "PVID 1"

When I use the IMC to set another PVID (examplte 10) on this port, the new port config is:

    interface 1/1/1
     no shutdown
     no routing
     vlan access 10
     exit

IMC removes all other config from the port but after that, it shows the correct VLAN...

    Hello Steffen,

In 6200 Aruba OS CX there is a problem displaying vlan access mode  with Restful Api. That is why integration with iMC for Vlan management might not work. Aruba OS CX  and iMC lab are working to fix this.

If you want you can open a support case to get the fix or just wait until it is fixed in one of the next releases.

    Kind regards,
