In the password reset account (forgetme!) you can only reset the password. When done with that, logout and login with the admin account the net new password.
Please note these switches run a legacy Aruba OS which is more similar to what runs on the controllers. It is different from what we now know as ArubaOS-Switch which is based on the HP switches or Provision-OS. I know it can be confusing.
Documentation for the Aruba Mobility Access switches
can be found here.
To show your IP settings, run the command 'show ip interfaces brief':
(stack01) #show ip interface brief
Flags: S - Secondary IP address
Probe: U - Up, D - Down, U/O - Up & Own IP, N/A - Not Applicable
Interface IP Address / IP Netmask Admin Protocol Probe Flags
vlan 42 10.42.0.211 / 255.255.255.0 Up Up N/A
mgmt unassigned / unassigned Up Down N/A
Config for this:
vlan "42"
!
interface vlan "42"
ip address 10.42.0.211 255.255.255.0
!
ip-profile
default-gateway 10.42.0.254
!
You can configure the management interface as well, but having in-band management is convenient in most cases as you don't need to connect multiple interfaces. Also, I configured vlan 42, so you will need to put the interfaces in vlan 42 with a switching profile. By default all interfaces are in vlan 1, so to get started you may set an IP in interface vlan 1.
