IAP-315 Factory Reset - no radio

I have two IAP-315's behaving the same way and I cannot access either of them. I have done a factory reset, swapped POE injectors, changed cabling, all to no avail. The system status light will eventually go mostly solid with a periodic blink and the radio light will remain off. I'm at a loss as to what the next steps in diagnosis could be.

I just checked the warranty support on these, and as fate would have it, they are just out of the 3yr warranty.

IAP-315s have life time warranty - For products purchased after December 1, 2015, the warranty extends only for as long as the original end user owns the product and is limited to five (5) years from the end of sale date

Can you actually login to the AP?

also check the installation guide that shows the meaning of the LED status.

Sorry for the delay. It took me all week to finally figure out how get a console on this thing. I was told they have a lifetime warranty, but when I go into the portal, it says 3 years. :(

Fortunately, I had some spare arduino parts laying around and was able to wire into the controller. I was able to get into the console (admin/admin) after a factory default. It does say it is in degraded mode and certain functions (write) are unavailable.

I was able to reboot it into this state so I suspect there might be a possibility of breathing life back into this this.

Further debugging and I'm wondering if there is something up with the ethernet port. Despite using a known good cable in a known good port, I am still seeing "eth0: link down" when executing "dhcp" at the apboot prompt.

    FWIW, OS versions are:

Degraded mode is normal. It means that AP is not yet fully booted. You just need to wait few minutes and it will go in normal operating mode.

Check the country setup. If country was not setup, then radio will stay down regardless of your other actions.

For ethernet port check the ethernet jack on AP. I see an AP that has broken connection on the board. It did power on, but could not establish connection.

Thanks! When you say you see it has a "broken connection on the board", what exactly do you mean by that?

I suggest you boot the AP up completely and see if there are any initialization error messages.

    Hi Rich.

I have two scenarios. First was that RJ45 connector on tha AP was not firmly attached to the board any more. It moved slightly when you try to connect cable in it. Looks like it was mechanically broken connection.

Second scenario was when cable connector was press deep during clamping and it couldn't make full contact on all 8 contacts. This one was very thought to find out. We clamp about 4-5 connectors before we find out where the problem is.

Both of this we encounter on AP303.
