Of course I've surveyed the whole facility, that's how it's usually done...
I was trying to point out the fact that there is no decent coverage even in the closest proximity. The pattern looks alright for this directional antenna, but the RSSI's are very low.
I know there's a lot of variables, but I just need to know what happens when antennas are not defined; if you could answer me that, I would appreciate it...I can't confirm anything without controller access, otherwise wouldn't have posted this, right?

There are too many variables to guess. You should confirm that the gain is indeed entered correctly, but that might not be the issue.
Have you tried to survey further out than two meters and in different directions to get a sense of the pattern of coverage?

I have recently surveyed an Aruba wi-fi deployment (mix of AP 514 & 515) and found some problems, inconsistent with the beacon captured information.
Access to the Controller was not permitted.
All the 514 AP's with external antennas AP-ANT-48 are not able to properly cover their intended areas (in both bands). The Sidekick measured RSSI barely exceeds -65dBm at 2 meters in front of the antenna. All the RF cables are properly connected and the antennas' effective gain has been verified (after disconnecting, RSSI drops ~8dB).
The TPC current power info captured from the beacon frames shows these APs are emitting with ETSI maximum allowed EIRPs (21/27 dBm, depending on the sub-band).
All the other 515 APs with integrated omni antennas, ensure decent coverage, while emitting with the same maximum powers.
What could be the problem here?
I have a hunch that they haven't correctly defined the external antennas' gains. Do you know what is Aruba's behavior if antennas are not defined at all?
