There is a license part, and a VM resources part.
For the license part, if you have an MM-VA-500 and buy and install another MM-VA-500, the license will be for 1k devices. Multiple licenses will just add up.
For the VM resources, check the
ArubaOS Virtual Appliance Installation Guide to first find the correct sizing/resources, then assign the right number of memory and CPUs, and if you need to increase the flash size... check the Appendix 'Increase Flash Size' on how to do that. In summary, you add a new disk with the proper size and on the next boot data will be migrated to that larger disk.
Please work with Aruba support if you are not sure.

Check here.
You can stack licenses (add another MM-VA-500), and then make sure the proper resources of virtual hardware are assigned.

is there a maximum number of devices to run under MM-VA-500 ?
We have MM-VA-500 on our MM and running around 24 MDs and 600 APs.
is there any procedure on upgrading to MM-VA-1000 or better to buy another MM-VA-500 ? the 2 MM-VA-500 can run on the same VM machine ?
thank you
