I wanted to find out the partition that our APs are booting off of. We are going to be doing an update, still using 6.5.4.x code. I wanted do the pre-image load but wanted to make sure it is on the non-boot partition.

    I have ran:
    show ap details ap-name APName

    and also:
show ap details advanced ap-name APName

With each one I don't see anything saying *default boot* like with you check the controller.

Or does the pre-image load, automatically copy it to the correct partition on the AP?

The active partitions on the APs will match the Controllers they are terminating to. If controller is Partition 0 for default boot, then AP is Partition 0.
