Hi All,

Recently added 2 new AP-555 to my setup and upgraded to firmware:

8.8.0.0_79697 (Digitally Signed - Production Build

Since those 2 actions I've got decent download speeds 400-500 Mbs but slow uploads 1-5 Mbs. jitter is like 2,5ms and sometimes there's between 1,5 and 5% pocketless. Downloadspeeds start around 70-80mbs but gradually slow down, stop and then slow down again to 1,5-5 Mbs. That's on AC-devices. I am stuck. Have tried a lot op options but can't seem to find the right solution. Also the hand-off to another access point is not working smoothly.. Maybe that's also an indication..

I've got 4 AP-555's In different parts of the buildings. My backbone is a 3810M core-switch 2 of the AP's are directly connected to the 3810M and the other 2 are connected to a 2930M (witch is connected through fiber with 3810M). All AP's are connected through ETH0 at 5Gbs to the switches.

I've got a 800/800 fiber wan-connection. So the 500 Mbs down ont he AP's is correct.

Any suggestions to tackle the slow-upload?  

AP1 is acting as preferred conductor. I have no virtual controller IP-address active (as I don't have a virtual controller, but as AP1 is acting as preferred conductor it is basically the virtual controller I guess)

I think I found a sort of a solution..

I check Pre-emption off under system, advanced settings, uplink, management 

that solved problem on all Ap's except the preferred conductor.. not sure why.. but rebooted all ap's more then once... 

so it's part of the solution I guess..

Still looking further into it..

You didn't say anything about the wifi configuration:  Are you running 20/40 or 80 mhz channels?

80mhz is good for throughput in isolated environments, but cochannel interference will keep your throughput down if there are any third-party networks on the 5ghz band visible.  In addition, in many regulatory domains, there are only two  80 mhz-wid non-overlapping channels by default..you would have to enable more 80mhz channels in your regulatory domain to avoid cochannel interference or performance penalties.  You can either do that, or drop down to 40mhz channels, where there are more available channels...

So is it correct that you have this issue only on a single ap and not on other access points?
Did you test with different clients?

Can you change channel and check again? And I think you will need to go back to 40mhz depending on the ap design.

Can you test with 8.5.0.13?
If this firmware is working correctly I think you have to contact Tac.

I had the issues on all the clients.

When I turned pre-emption off 3 of the 4 AP's are working correctly. They are around 500/500

The preferred conductor was then the only one still having upload issues at 500/1.5

I just today is disabled broadcast filtering  and it upped the upload to 25% of the download on AP1 (the preferred conductor). So it's peaked at 140. Btu if I test a tad later we are back at 0,2 or 1,5)

Downloads are at 600+ So they are great (on a 800/800 connection).

So not a solution but better then 1.5 ;)

Still confused why 3 of the 4 ap's are performing well and only the preferred conductor is behaving differently.

All firmwares are the same. this problem started after going to the latest firmware.

I think there is an issue with a client. It now shows a warning on a client integrity check failure on encrypted message. It shows an ip of 0.0.0.0 and a mac-addres. I don't now which client it is.. can't find the mac-address in the dhcp-table or ARP table of my router.

Is it the virtual controller? Do I need to set a virtual controller ip on the preferred conductor? And if so does it need to be different from the ip-adres of the preferred conductor?

I can't remember a client that isn't working right now..

Have tried a lot op options but can't seem to find the right solution. Also the hand-off to another access point is not working smoothly.. Maybe that's also an indication..

I've got 4 AP-555's In different parts of the buildings. My backbone is a 3810M core-switch 2 of the AP's are directly connected to the 3810M and the other 2 are connected to a 2930M (witch is connected through fiber with 3810M). All AP's are connected through ETH0 at 5Gbs to the switches.

I've got a 800/800 fiber wan-connection. So the 500 Mbs down ont he AP's is correct.

Any suggestions to tackle the slow-upload?  

AP1 is acting as preferred conductor. I have no virtual controller IP-address active (as I don't have a virtual controller, but as AP1 is acting as preferred conductor it is basically the virtual controller I guess)

So is it correct that you have this issue only on a single ap and not on other access points?
Did you test with different clients?

Can you change channel and check again? And I think you will need to go back to 40mhz depending on the ap design.

Since those 2 actions I've got decent download speeds 400-500 Mbs but slow uploads 1-5 Mbs. jitter is like 2,5ms and sometimes there's between 1,5 and 5% pocketless. Downloadspeeds start around 70-80mbs but gradually slow down, stop and then slow down again to 1,5-5 Mbs. That's on AC-devices. I am stuck.
