How to obtain the APboot upgrade file of IAP-315?

  • 1.  How to obtain the APboot upgrade file of IAP-315?

    There is an IAP-315, before running os6.5, everything is normal.
    One day when I wanted to upgrade to os8.6, I found that there was no way to upgrade successfully.
    The CLI prompts that there is insufficient NAND space.
    Later I found out: The APboot version of this IAP-315 is: 1.5.5.4, and the other normal IAP-315 is: 1.5.5.5.
    Now I can determine that the problem is caused by the version of APboot.
    My question now is: Where should I get this boot file?

    Reach out to Aruba TAC support. The apboot should not be upgraded in the field, if you have this issue TAC may initiate an RMA if you are eligible.

    Please make sure you actually have an IAP (sticker on the back) and it is not an AP type that is not supported to run Instant firmware.

    We are seeing this issue with AP-315 CAPs (NOT IAP model), with AOS 8.10.0.1.  It appears the AP-315 firmware image is now too big, just as with the Instant image.

    This is doing a TFTP upgrade directly from APboot (these APs have APboot 1.5.5.4):

    apboot> upgrade os 1 10.250.99.4:/ipq806x.ari

    eth0: link up, speed 1 Gb/s, full duplex

    Using eth0 device

    TFTP from server 10.250.99.4; our IP address is 10.40.8.56; sending through gateway 10.40.11.254

    Filename '/ipq806x.ari'.

    Load address: 0x44000000

    Loading: T T T T T T T #################################################################

             #################################################################

             #################################################################

             ###############################

    done

    Bytes transferred = 14799024 (e1d0b0 hex)

     

    Image is signed; verifying checksum... passed

    Signer Cert OK

    Policy Cert OK

    RSA signature verified.

    Image is too big; (14799024 > 14680064)

    If you haven't already, please contact technical support.  They will evaluate what is wrong and suggest a solution.  There is not an apboot file just floating around out there that can just fix the issue.

    Imagine my shock; TAC (ERT) just sent us the updated apboot image to load onto the APs.  I'm stunned.

    We're gonna work with the client to get it loaded on some APs tomorrow!
