    Hi everyone,

We're considering getting virtual controllers for our remote offices and then when we upgrade the controllers at headquarters in the future move our current 7030s to these locations.

Will we be able to have a cluster between a VC and a 7030 when that becomes relevant?

    Thanks!

It is advised to have Clusters with the same controller models to minimize issues in the future.

What type of issues may happen?

We're talking about locations with just 2-3 APs at the moment (though they may grow in the future).

Please discuss with your partner or Aruba support. From your question, this sounds like something unique/exceptional rather than mainstream, and you shared only limited information/context. Scale, architecture, requirements, all should be taken into account, and the answer may be very simple, but best to discuss with someone who has full insights into your environment.
