    Dear Experts,

    Need your urgent support please.

    I had an IAP-315 and controller 7010 running 8.7. I converted IAP-315 to CAP and its now working with 7010 installed at customer site for demo. Now i need to convert CAP back to IAP since for some reason they are not able to reset it no matter how many times they try. So please tell me

    1) Can we convert CAP to STANDALONE AP through controller?
    2) If above is not possible, can we convert CAP back to IAP from controller directly?

    see if this works for you, the response that starts by telneting to the CAP.

    You can convert CAP to IAP from controller's CLI

    You need to have Aruba Instant image stored on local server ot controller or AP should be deployed from Aruba Activate.
    Depending on this you select correct source for converting an AP.

    1st add AP to convert list

    # ap convert add ap-name <ap-name>

    Then engage convert process. Specific source depend on your situation.

    $ ap convert active specific-aps  (activate/local-flash/server) <source specific settings>

    For example, if you have tftp server, then command can look something like that

    ap convert active specific-aps server tftp <tftp server> <filename>

    I know it's an old thread. I'm just adding some updates.

    So if you originally have IAP and you convert it into CAP, you can convert it back to IAP with

    # ap redeploy controller-less ap-name <ap_name>
