Wireless Requirements

    Hello everyone,

     

    I am brand new to Aruba and to this forum!  From what I have seen, it looks like the Aruba solution is very good.  We are looking to upgrade our wireless and have the following requirements.  I am hoping most all of these features are available with Aruba Instant, they are as follows:

     

    -SSIDs based on VLAN (SSID EMPLOYEE=Vlan 20, SSID GUEST=Vlan 30)

    -Custom Internal Captive Portal with RADIUS Authentication for guest access

    -RADIUS Authentication (EAP-TLS with Windows NPS and Certificate Services)

    -Wireless Schedule to turn off wireless at night

     

    Please let me know what features are available from this list.  Hopefully most everything will be.

    Aruba supports all the above features, the following features can be fulfilled with Controllers itself.

    -SSIDs based on VLAN (SSID EMPLOYEE=Vlan 20, SSID GUEST=Vlan 30)

    -Custom Internal Captive Portal with RADIUS Authentication for guest access

    -RADIUS Authentication (EAP-TLS with Windows NPS and Certificate Services)

     

    Only " Wireless Schedule to turn off wireless at night" require Aruba Airwave server

     

    Please feel free for any further help on this.

    - SSID based vlan can be done on instant and is fairly trivial

    - Instant supports a custom internal captive portal, but it is fairly rudimentary.  You would want an external web server to supply a custom portal.

    - Instant does do radius authentication and supports the various EAP flavors, yes.

    - Wireless schedule can only be done with the Airwave management tool on instant
