Physical Location (Country of controller)

    Hi,

We currently have a 2 x 7210-ROW controllers both located in the UK managing APs in the UK.

We want to add 2 x 72030-US controllers to manage new APs in the US.

We want to locate one of the 7230-US in the US and the other in the UK (we only have one Datacenter in the US and want to place one in the UK for HA).  The US controllers will only control APs physically in the US and the ROW controllers will only control APs physically in the UK.

Will this break any FCC rules by having a US controller in the UK?

    Thanks

Installing a -US controller is not permitted in the EU:

The EU equipment approvals are based on the model number. The "Restricted Regulatory Domain - US" controller has a different model number than the "Unrestricted" hence we are not regulatory approved to deploy a US controller in the EU.

If you order a -US controller in the UK, the order is expected to be rejected.

Also, for the US both the APs and the Controllers must be deployed in the US by FCC rules.

I wished that I had better news for you, unfortunately, this is what it appears to be.
