ap-205 and ap-305 mix

    Have one short question, can I mix AP-205 and AP-305 in one campus? We hav some points with coverege problem.

    Yes, so long as your controller is running a firmware version that supports both AP models.

     

    Typically, I would not recommend mixing 2x2 and 3x3 APs in the same space, as some clients may prefer to try and stay connected to the more capable APs longer than they should. With both the 205 and 305 being 802.11ac capable APs, there's less likely to be a problem unless you have a majority of 3x3 capable laptop devices in your environment.

    I'd like to extend this question to the next generation AP the 505. We are reviewing our plans for upgrading our purchase of replacing some AP 105 and 115 with 305 with 505 instead. We have some 305 and 205 in those buildings so we would have a mixed environment. How does the 505 work with the 305 and 205 series, or should they keep a healthy distance from each other when deploying?
