We are installing new VSX stack based on Aruba 8230 with TL.10.02.0001 and having issues with unsupported tranceivers which is annoying. For example we have some SPF+ DAC cable from Lenovo and try to connect it to anothe HP 5500 chasis. On HP side the tranceiver is recognized and there is warning but it works. However on the 8320 it's not even recognized as anything.
Is there any way that we enable unsupported tranceivers on 8320 like on 3810 for example or we need to stick only to the supported devices? It's very annoying since we have also some fiber SPFs which are not working on the 8320.
There is no command to enable unsupported transceivers on ArubaOS-CX (8400/8320/8325).
Ok so basically we have to stick to the supported ones and buy new DAC cables/tranceivers, right?
Correct, only the official supported DACs or transceivers will work.
As reference use this ArubaOS-Switch and ArubaOS-CX Transceiver Guide (January 2019) to understand all supported transceivers.
