Controller ZTP with DCHP on ArubaOS 8.4

    We are trying to use ZTP with DHCP option 43 on a controller running ArubaOS 8.4.  In the 8.4.0.0 User Guide it states that DHCP option 43 should contain "masterip, country-code, master-mac1, master-mac2".

    When option 43 is set without option 60, the factory default controller does not seem to read the option 43.  After we set option 60 to "ArubaMC" the controller started to read the DHCP option 43 information, but we received the following error: ArubaDHCP_option43error.PNG

    So my question is does anybody have an example of the exact format of the DHCP option 43 data?

    What is your DHCP server? Option 43 should be configured as a string for the format, but should work with the format you listed. A packet capture will confirm whether the options are listed in the response properly.

    We're currently using Windows DHCP server 2012.

    As you can see in the highlighted area, option 43 is returning "10.1.0.140,US,00:50:56:83:XX:XX,00:40:56:83:YY:YY"

    I was just re-reading the user guide for 8.4.0.0 and noticed that it only lists 3 supported topologies for ZTP with DHCP.

    - VMM with VPNC
    - HMM with VPNC
    - HMM without VPNC

    We are using a VMM without VPNC, is this why the option 43 check is failing?
