    Hi, does Aruba 6400 24p 10GT 4SFP56 Mod (R0X42A) backward support 10/100/1000 port speed?

    Thank you.

    Hi!

In a 2019 TTP the Aruba 6400 24-port 10GBASE-T and 4-port SFP56 line card (SKU: R0X42A) was declared to support twenty four 100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10G Base-T non-PoE ports but, personally, I'm not totally sure about that...why? because this module was not exactly declared supporting "Smart Rate" as happened on the R0X41A.

Aruba PLM or TME could chime in to clarify it.

    Great question

i also would like to know if the "R0X41A" supporting 10/100 Mbps.

    Thank you!

Hi! With regards to R0X41A (exactly declared with Smart Rate interfaces) I really don't know about 100 Mbps but I'm quite sure you can exclude support for 10 Mbps (see here why).

Not 100% related, but 6300M with SmartRate will not do 10 (as expected), but will do 100/1/2.5/5.

Any idea if R0X41A will do 100? The datasheet seems to imply that it wont.

Oh, and one note. If you use Intel AMT/vPro (out of band management for desktops and workstations), it may no longer work with a smartrate card/switch, because it limits the NIC to 10mbit/s when the computer is sleeping or turned off.

    Yep.

It's possible that 10GBase-T will mean the port is capable also to work at 1G  other than 10G (I will not be amazed by that at all)...what is really making me unsure - in absence of interfaces supporting Smart Rate - is the 100Mbps speed...I mean, I can easily understand 1G/10G capability, I understand less the 100M/1G/10G capability.

    From Aruba docs:

    R0X41A - 100M/1/2.5/5

    R0X42A - 100M/1/2.5/5/10GBase-T
