how to i upgrade firmware from AOS 126.96.36.199 to AOS 188.8.131.52?
Is there an option using GUI or CLI?
Controller: Aruba 3200
Firmware: AOS 184.108.40.206
There are options for both CLI and WebUI. I assume you have a 3200XM if you are already on 220.127.116.11.
The procedure begins on page 93 of the Release Notes (attached).

The release notes have a chapter dedicated to upgrading scenarios.
Additional to this is was trying to back up the preconfig im getting denied
(LAB-Aruba01) #copy running-config ftp: 172.16.0.26 admin password running-config
Error Copying file: ncftpput /tmp/running-config: server said: Permission denied.
Was that the controller side who denied the access.?
Here what on my ftp and change the directory same result
Have you tried tftp? It is sometimes easier as there are no username/passwords/permissions to worry about. As an alternative, you can download the tech-support logs which includes a copy of the config (inside the techsupport.log file). You can generate and download these logs from the WebUI directly:
Maintenance --> Copy Logs --> Download Logs (check include Technical support information)
