We have three controller, all firmware is "3.3.2.24-rn-3.1.13".I see release note which write "

For ArubaOS RN-3.x or ArubaOS 5.0.x versions earlier than ArubaOS 5.0.3.1, download the latest
    version of ArubaOS 5.0.4.x."

It mean we need upgrade it by step 3.3.2.24-rn-3.1.13>5.0.4.x>6.1.3.x ?

I try an AP61  from controller firmware 3.3.2.24-rn-3.1.13 change master and serverip to another controller firmware 6.1.3.5.

It is sucessed, and look like worked.

So if we want upgrade controller

all ap also need by step upgrade,or we can upgrade controller to the newest just let all ap upgrade from 3.3.2.24-rn-3.1.13 to 6.1.3.x

    directly?

    Have anybody  try this?

    Thanks for help.

With the controller you need to follow the right upgrade path but with APs you can upgrade directly
