Endpoints are Unknown

    Hi,

     

    I'm having a problem with my new ClearPass implmention where the majory of my Endpoints status is not being updated from Unknown to Known.

     

    This is causing MAC cacheing problems as everytime a guest re-connects to the server they have to then re-enter in their credentials.

     

    I can't explain why some are coming up as unknown while others are known.

     

    Is there a setting somewhere that im missing ?

    Check your enforcement profile and see if there is a Post_Authentication action that updates the endpoint status to Known.

    That was my problem.  I had made my own enforcement policy and that did not include a post_authenticaiton of updating the endpoints.

    Hi.

     

    By default status of endpoints in endpoint respository is unknown ri8??

     

    if we have to change the status to known, either we have to do it manually or with post authentictaion things ri8??

    You would use a Post_Authentication action of [Update Endpoint Known]
