Clearpass 6.9 Trial License issue

    Dear Experts, 

     

    I generated trial license for 6.9 and added Entry, Access upgrade and onboard. Its showing up in applications but in license summary its all zeros.

     

    Any idea what might be the issue. in 6.7 it happened a lot to me, and i usually have to do the reinstallation. Is there any quick resolution to this?

    If you click on "Refresh Count" does that update the "Total Count"?

    No i tried it but nothing. I restarted the appliance and on cli ran show
    licenses. It is showing all the licenses i haved added with correct date.
    Also the time date on appliance is correctly configured.

    Strange thing is, i am able to create a service, but when i try to add on
    guard license, its giving error that no access licenses are available

    I got it solved after waiting for couple of hours. Simply turned off my vm, and opened just now and saw the licenses are registered. I am not getting onguard to register so lets see

    This is a known issue as of now - Unable to add OnGuard license when Entry and Access Upgrade licenses are installed.

    Hello,

     

    I have the same problem with my Lab CPPM 6.9 (6.7 upgraded to 6.8 then upgraded to 6.9).

     

    I have generated new Eval licences and updated the ones present on my system:

    - Platform OK

    - Onguard OK

    - Onboard OK

    - Entry NOK (because Access lics already present)

    - Accessupgrade NOK (no Entry lics present)

     

    Then via the CPPM API I have deleted the old Access licence but by mistake I have also deleted the just upgraded Onguard license.

     

    After the above action I could install the Entry & Accessupgrade lics and activated them OK but now I cannot install the Onguard license.

     

    Is there any workaround to install Onguard license when Entry & Accessupgrade are present ?

     

    At this time I don't really need the Onguard but it would good that I know what to do if the same problem occurs on a customer CPPM

    Hi,

    No, this is not possible and i had to work with TAC to get it resolved. You
    need Access license (Not Entry and Not Access Upgrade) installed to get
    onguard

    Hello,

     

    Thank for the answer.

     

    Since it is a Lab system and & don't need Onguard right now I will wait until a fix is available.

     

    Its also mean that it will not be possible to deploy an Eval licences for a POC that need Onguard since Eval always include Entry + Accessupgrade

    Hi,

    >From partner account, go to generate eval license but select clearpass NL.

    Hi,

    I have the same problem, there isn't solution for this problem?
    On support web I can generate clearpass license only, not for clearpass NL.

    Do you have any fix?

    Reach out to your partner or Aruba SE if you can't generate the evaluation licenses you need. Not all licensing is 'self-service'.
