Hi Everyone,
I just got a 515 for my home lab. Initially, I booted it up and it joined the instant cluster with my 207, which it is meant to be replacing. No problems.
However, I was having some issues with my one PC where it would only connect to my guest SSID. (I assumed that this could be a VLAN issue, but everything was correct.)
I then decided that ill reset it and set it up fresh since it was going to be replacing the other AP anyways. This is where I started having issues. I reset the AP but it did not bring up the setmeup SSID for about 15+ mins. I was able to identify its IP with LLDP from my switch (2930F), but when I try to log in it refuses my credentials. I initially tried admin admin, but after a bit of reading, I noticed that this has been changed to admin serial#, which gave the same error. I have the same issue when trying with SSH. I also tried the credentials from my other cluster with the 207 that it had joined initially.
At this point, I booted back up the 207, reset the 515 again, and tried to join it to this cluster. However, it now just gets to a point where the status light is solid green and the wireless light is off, it doesn't come up in the VC either. Interestingly, if you try to go to the 515s IP, you are redirected to the master APs address, which makes me think there is some sort of interaction going on.
I would really like to console in and see what's happening, but I don't have the proprietary micro USB cable yet.
Looking at this as a whole it really just looks like a password issue. The boot time is a bit odd, but I don't have any other experience with the 5 series, so perhaps that's normal? I'm really hoping that I'm just being a twit and have missed something obvious. If anyone has suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I'm really hoping to get more use out of it than as an expensive paperweight.
Regards
Ciaran
